About the department
The Department of Foreign Languages was founded in 1970. Since 2010, the department has been headed by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Victoriya Vyacheslavovna Levchenko.
In 2015, following the merger and reorganization of Samara State University and Samara State Aerospace University, the Department of Foreign Languages was reorganized into the Department of Foreign Languages and Professional Communication of Samara University.

The Department of Foreign Languages and Professional Communication provides teaching in English, German, French, Chinese and Spanish.

Journal FLER
To increase publication activity and develop scientific contacts in the field of practical linguistics and language teaching, the department regularly publishes the journal «Focus on Language Education and Research» (FLER).
The double—blind peer-reviewed journal provides an international platform for scientists, academics, and researchers to share papers in the fields of language teaching, linguistics, intercultural communication and professional development.
