Summer Institute “Developing Academic Writing Skills”

warmly invites you to participate in the Summer Institute “Developing Academic Writing Skills”


    The institute is open to researchers, postgraduate and master students, foreign language teachers from Russia and abroad.
    Russian and foreign experts, instructors and tutors will run classes, seminars, workshops, give lectures and consultations in the most topical areas of academic writing. Throughout the fortnight, Summer Institute participants will study basics of academic writing in English. The course of academic writing will help students to understand the expectations of academic writing and its genres, grasp the principles of academic integrity, learn how to evaluate and process information from different sources, improve academic vocabulary and grammar skills.
    The Institute will give an excellent opportunity to take part in practical exercises, develop and discuss their research projects. The entire program is intended to be conducted in English. For further details view program.
    Participation in the Summer Institute is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere of academic studies and to master writing and presentation skills. Communication with participants from different countries will facilitate cross-cultural interaction and the exchange of research ideas. The excursion program will give a chance to get acquainted with a picturesque Russian city on a famous river. Summer Institute program provides the opportunity to initiate and develop your own research discuss it with colleagues During the Summer Institute, you will get prepared to communicate your brilliance to the world.
    Summer Institute students will also take part in the International conference “Moving Forward in a Dynamic World” together with Russian, American, British, and Canadian experts, academics, and practitioners from schools and universities.

    The final product of the two week course is a group research project which will be designed, developed and presented by the participants of the Summer Institute The result of participation in Summer Institute is development and presentation of your own academic product: scientific article draft, abstract of the article, outline of the research, syllabus or workshop designed with support of foreign and Russian tutors.

Every participant of the Summer Institute receives a certificate of accomplishment for academic credit.

   The two week’s course fee is $ 50 (2,800 rub).
   It includes:
− 72 hours of tuition (2 credits)
− course materials
   The fee does not include travel expenses of the participants to and from
Russia and visa fee.
  Participants will pay for excursions and a boat trip along the river Volga

  Accommodation and meals are not included into the program fee.
